Networking in All the Wrong Places

Traditionally, if you want your business and your marketing efforts to expand networking events to choose, most people connect their local Chamber of Commerce. While this is a great place for social engagement, it is not necessary to produce new business for you. Don 't get me wrong link, I man, because it have a great place to connect with local entrepreneurs in combination, to promote, in fact, that I am a member of several of them!

What I want to say isTheir prospects are probably somewhere else, to gather? To get a better idea of when you are networking in the right place to examine where your tracking was recent clients. Start with your most recent customers and make a simple chart up to 20-30 clients.

Here are a few other things are put on your list:

Have these companies come from a network function? If yes, where?
Are they a local business?
Do they have a variety of locations?
Are theyBusinesses or consumers?
Where others as they go? (eg, associations, nonprofit groups, women's groups)
If there is a company, how long they've been in business?
How many employees do they have?

Even if I can participate in networking events love, I tell almost immediately if there is a good match for my business. If I work primarily small businesses, entrepreneurs, home-based business, coaches, and other solopreneursProfessionals, then in a meeting with a roomful of teachers is not in me to lead compounds for businesses.

If you lead with stakeholders, are a group and do not always lead, it's not the fault of the people in the group. It could just mean they do not naturally connect with their target audience in touch.

Remember the term "fishing where the fish are," and take a close look at networking, where you spend time.
